About the journal

Administration under law, not merely in name

Acta Juris Administrativi will publish scholarship that takes public power seriously as a legal institution and asks how law can hold it to account.

The journal welcomes work in the tradition of administrative law doctrine—legality, discretion, administrative acts, procedure, and judicial review—as well as scholarship on regulation, governance, public services, and the institutions through which the state acts. It will publish comparative and global administrative law, and work that crosses disciplinary boundaries.

The journal is being developed as an independent, international forum. It is committed to careful editorial work, serious engagement with argument, and scholarship that is accessible to readers across jurisdictions and traditions.
